A chemist is a specialized professional who is responsible for conducting research, analyzing chemicals and compounds, and developing new products and processes.

They use their knowledge of chemistry to create new medicines, improve manufacturing processes, and improve the quality and safety of products. Chemists work in a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and manufacturing.

They must have excellent analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail, as well as strong communication skills to explain their findings to colleagues and clients.
