BookSummaries
Overview
BookSummaries is a GPT designed to provide prompt and insightful summaries of any book a user is curious about. Built by Olena Gurinovych, the tool leverages the capabilities of ChatGPT to dissect and summarize literary works ranging from classical compositions to contemporary bestsellers.
Ideal for quick recaps, detailed retellings or simply to satisfy a user's curiosity, BookSummaries can be accessed anytime to facilitate an enlightening literary discussion.
Among its listed functionalities are prompt starters such as providing short summaries of specific books (e.g., '1984' by George Orwell), or a medium-length or long retelling (e.g., 'The Great Gatsby').
Furthermore, it can even condense complex narratives into minimal sentences, an example being a 10-sentence summary of 'Pride and Prejudice'. It is noteworthy that the use of this tool requires a ChatGPT Plus subscription.
As a GPT, it is a valuable and unique utility for literature enthusiasts, students, educators, among others, offering a convenient and innovative way to delve into books through AI-powered summaries.

Alexandru Bostina🛠️ 2 tools 🙏 6,857 karmaMay 5, 2025@SummaristIt seems to be working fine right now. Maybe try again and double check if you’re using the book’s original or most recognized title. That might make a difference. -

14,260194Released 2y agoFrom $5I paid 10.00 and on the same day I cancelled my subscription. After providing me with a summary of a specific book, it also gives me the 10 main quotes from the book. I purchased the book from Kindle, so I tried to match the quotes given by booknotes with the Kindle book, and none of the quotes are on the book. In other words, booknotes created the quotes... If the quotes are fabricated by AI, what else in the summary is also not accurate? I still want to give this site the benefit that they will get it right, but right now, I cannot recommend it as a reliable tool.
