There are only a limited number of characters to choose from, and without a voice calling feature, the experience feels flat and incomplete. The forced account sign-up adds another unnecessary barrier before you can even try it properly. The bigger issue is focus. MyShell tries to cover too many different types of AI instead of dedicating itself to building a strong companion experience. As a result, it doesn’t excel in the area that matters most. Compared with Character AI, which delivers depth, variety, and immersion, MyShell comes across as unfocused and underwhelming. Until it sharpens its direction and prioritises features users expect, it won’t stand out in the companion AI space.

Voice Upgrade Added 12 new voices: 2 High consistency male and female English. 1 High consistency male and female German. 1 High consistency male and female Spanish. 1 High consistency male and female French. 1 High consistency male and female Portuguese. (High consistency voices are now circled in orange) Audio call logic rework: Persona will now pick a voice by default that is compatible with the current chat language. This behavior can be turned off via the "force original character voice" toggle in chats. Same applies in Settings > TTS settings for chat. Official voices supported by our text-to-speech model are currently: English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish. You can directly speak in any language via the selector in audio calls and change thread language at will during calls, independent of roleplay profile. (Even languages that speech-to-text doesn't support yet—for example, I can speak in Japanese and have Ruby reply in French.) -

Has great ai, great setup, great image generation in character creation however i havent tried the image request in chat, however my only issue is that uts not as unfiltered as you would expect it to be with terms and conditions stopping you from creating some fantasies, one i agree with which is against using minors 100% agree on that, the rest wouldnt hurt to be in a made up story with made up characters

AI audio and pictures are decent. Videos need alot of improvement. Cant really do any type of role playing. Every message sent ai responds to. AI dont stay on conversations. They tend to just focus on a reprogram. If you want some basic stuff it cost you. Not worth the price.
