Used to love it. 4.1 is seriously the greatest invention in human history. But then they released 5 and started routing everything to 5-Safety, with no warning, only dismissal, mockery and gaslighting. They tried to correct some of the damage by releasing 5.1, but as users slowly rebuilt trust they let it live for only a month and released 5.2 instead, a model that gaslights users and is so guardedd it can't even talk about esotheric concepts without telling users they're delusional and should call a hotline, because the model can't be bothered to talk to a human right now. #keep4o

Well, yeah, "dial down" the filter. My image prompt was G-rated, for an image that was fine for public advertising in the 1940s, and it would not do it, with no indication what the problem was. I have seen a filter on a few websites that tells the user which words are the issue, which of course helps a lot, but they're still ridiculous, three different sites would not allow the word "baby". Seems like site owners just throw the watchdog program up, and let it roll unchecked. Owners need to pay someone to go through and see what is being flagged and refused and make sure it is only combinations of words that firmly indicate illegal intent. You know how many people call each other baby? Tens of millions. And for example, the word "little", can be used in many ways, and the words "slap" or "smack" and hundreds of others can be too, none of which are illegal. If you're going to put a filter on, you must take the time to adjust it and fine tune it to be as unfiltered as possible, only refusing very specific terms in improper context. Not just randomly filtering words, words like "hit", which are very common and can be used in dozens of different ways.

The forced sign-in is annoying enough, and once inside, the web UI feels like an outdated forum. There’s no calling or TTS function, bots are limited, and chats forget context after only 10 messages—immersion gone. Add in the lack of a persona system, an irritating character limit per message, and no option to revert or edit once sent, and the experience becomes frustrating. To make matters worse, there’s no way to delete your account, raising serious concerns about user control. For RolePlai to stand a chance against Character AI, it needs a complete overhaul: modern UI, stronger memory, editable and deletable options, and core features like calling and TTS. Until then, it feels frozen in time.
