I've been a premium user for a year now and the dev team (of 1 person!) and CEO have continued to improve the site and remain active in the community and discord. They continually update the chat model for improved user experience, and despite the occasional set back and need to roll back to an earlier model, the chat quality continues to improve. The whole setup feels more focused on squeezing money out of users than actually delivering a meaningful AI companion experience. For Soulmaite.io to stand a chance, it needs to open up more character options, remove these constant paywalls, and rethink its pricing model. Compared with Character AI, which gives users unlimited, immersive interactions without nickel-and-diming, Soulmaite.io doesn’t stack up.

The pictures are on the level of something you'd see 3 years ago. The girls there are named after weird categories like Social Justice Lawyer and Wine Master as opposed to just having real names. Wanting to give it a fair shake, I did strike up a conversation, and was met by stilted dialog on the level of GPT 3. Don't bother with this lazy attempt. Also, there's no option to delete your account.
