Stephanie Santiago🛠️ 2 tools 🙏 83 karmaJul 22, 2025it’s a cool tool if you wanna chat with made up characters or build your own. works fine and feels fun. the ui could def be better organized. alsooo letting people upload any pic for their characters makes things kinda messy, some look 🔥, some are like 144p pics. would be sick if they added a 'generate image' button that uses your character's description or lets you write one for it. -

That’s more generous than many competitors. But the cracks show quickly. There’s no calling function, and the subscription model $9.99 per month for unlimited messages—feels too barebones for the price. The platform also lacks proper tagging for models, making discovery awkward, and the limited male variety makes it feel unbalanced for users seeking more options. To improve, DreamTavern should expand its male character selection, refine its model tagging, and add immersive features like calling. Compared with Character AI, which offers depth, diversity, and memory, DreamTavern still feels half-baked.
