Overview
soink is a hands-free dictation application built exclusively for Mac users seeking to alleviate the strain of typing due to physical conditions such as TFCC injury or wrist pain.
The application offers live streaming, allowing words to appear in the text field as they are spoken and cleaned up by AI simultaneously. Its feature 'Auto Polish' cleans up filler and grammar live.
Furthermore, the app offers voice-enabled edits and commands, like 'change Tuesday to Wednesday' or 'send'. This functionality means users can dictate, make changes, and send the text without touching the keyboard.
Those who prefer a blend of voice and typing, soink provides the convenience of moving fluidly between voice and keyboard input within the same sentence.
An additional key feature is that it types directly into your active text field, unlike many dictation apps which require you to paste a block of text after dictating.
soink is designed to seamlessly integrate with a variety of applications, from email and messaging apps to coding tools and more, aiding in creating a more sustained work process for users.

Seamless speech-to-text in every app.Spokenly feels genuinely practical for people who prefer talking through ideas instead of typing everything manually. I also like that offline/local support is included since a lot of dictation tools still depend completely on the cloud.

Don't type text anymore, just speakReally solid on Windows. I’ve tried several similar transcription tools before, but this one feels much better integrated into the system. The customizable global shortcuts are a game changer, you can either just do plain transcription or trigger your own custom prompts/actions with Adifferent hotkeys. A lot of competitors do Aroughly the same thing, but EchoWrite stands out because the basic transcription is essentially free (you just need your own OpenAI API key, which costs next to nothing). If you want the custom prompts and translations, it’s a one-time payment instead of yet another subscription. In 2026 that’s actually pretty fair compared to everything else out there. Big thumbs up.
